[Hong Kong, China － December 6, 2006] Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. ("Huawei"), a leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, has announced that it is showcasing a number of mobile solutions at ITU Telecom World 2006 in Hong Kong, China from 4-8 December 2006 to mark a successful 2006 in which it became the strategic partner of 28 of the world's top fifty mobile operators including Vodafone, Telefonica, KPN, Etisalat, China Mobile, and China Unicom.

Huawei is exhibiting a line-up of its leading commercial solutions which help operators to enhance network performance with lower construction and maintenance costs. Huawei will exhibit its solutions which help reinforce the company's position as an industry leader in the mobile communications industry, such as: Distributed Node B, UMTS900, iDBS Indoor Coverage solution, high-efficiency Iub-IP transmission solutions, UMTS AP, CDMA2000 1x EV-DO Rev. A. end-to-end solution, and its WiMAX solutions.

Huawei's distributed Node B solution helps mobile carriers greatly address the issues of site acquisition, transportation and installation, and reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) up to 30 percent. Huawei's iDBS In-Building Coverage Solution meets the increasing requirement of indoor 3G services usage. Huawei also provides high-efficiency Iub-IP transmission solutions for operators such as eMobile Japan, for cutting transmission costs by up to 40 percent while guaranteeing high quality of service (QoS).

Huawei GSM networks will put on display a number of future-oriented EnerG GSM solutions. The new generation GSM dual density Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) adopt advanced technologies such as transmitting diversity, high receiving sensitivity, and 4-way receiving diversity. Compared with the traditional BTS, Huawei's EnerG GSM BTS coverage areas are increased by around 40 percent and the number of sites can be reduced by approximately 30 percent. Better voice service and 3G-like services are also available on the GSM network, such as Color Ring Back Tone and EnerG-Talkie. At the same time, Huawei GSM based on next generation platform can smoothly be evolved to GSM EDGE Radio Access Networks (GERAN).

As a leader in the CDMA industry, Huawei will also be exhibiting its CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev.A. The CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev.A commercial solution provides operators with a future-oriented, high-performance and profitable full-service platform, supporting abundant services such as VoIP, wireless broadband access, and streaming media. Huawei CDMA products serve 60 Million CDMA subscribers. In 2006, Huawei won a national contract from Leap Wireless to provide the first All-IP CDMA2000 network in USA, and it has worked with CANTV/Movilnet in Venezuela, PBTL in Bangladesh and Starcomms in Nigeria.

Huawei is also an industry pioneer in Mobile WiMAX and provides end-to-end WiMAX total solutions that support integrated networking with GSM, CDMA and UMTS. Huawei will use 3GSM as an opportunity to showcase this technology to the public.

A partner of choice for global mobile operators for its fast delivery and response rate, to date Huawei has won 66 3G commercial contracts worldwide including 35 UMTS/HSPA commercial contracts and 31 EV-DO commercial contracts. Huawei has deployed a total of 800,000 GSM TRXs worldwide, serving 160 million GSM subscribers in more than 80 countries and its shipment of GSM BTS exceeded 300,000 TRXs in 2006, a 95% increase from last year. According to CDMA Development Group (CDG), Huawei is one of "TOP3" players in the global CDMA market with a 14.5% share and ranks first in the emerging CDMA market share, securing 31 Evolution Data Only (EV-DO) commercial contracts.
