Huawei showcases ALL IP Networking Solutions at ITU Telecom World 2006
Core benefits are demonstrated to customers

[Hong Kong, China – December 6, 2006] Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. ("Huawei"), a leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, showcased its leading-edge End-to-End (E2E) Quality of Experience (QoE) Multiplay solutions at ITU Telecom World 2006 held on 4-8 December 2006 in Hong Kong to demonstrate the benefits of its ALL IP networking to customers. Huawei's E2E Multiplay QoE solution brings three core benefits to customers: standard and open ALL IP network architecture, a carrier-class trustworthy network and maximized network value.

Standard and open ALL IP Network Architecture

Huawei's ALL IP-based E2E Multiplay QoE solution enables carriers to reduce their capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operating expenditure (OPEX) and recoup their investment while also providing standard interfaces and open networking capabilities. Built on the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) networking infrastructure, the solution supports seamless connection with a broad range of ISP/ICP applications and a wide variety of carrier OSS/BSS systems.

Carrier-class Trustworthy Network

Subscribers to Huawei's ALL IP E2E Multiplay QoE solution receive carrier-class QoE, because they have access to a wide array of multiplay services which can increase their ARPU and reduce their churn rate. Huawei's ALL IP E2E Multiplay QoE solution also provides subscriber-centric and service-centric control over network resources with features such as fast network self-healing capabilities.

Maximized Network Value

Based on instant service-aware applications like WEB non-session and session applications like Video on Demand (VOD) and Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), Huawei's ALL IP E2E Multiplay QoE solution supports QoE and ISP/ICP management, allowing subscribers to experience service customization and mobility. This enables carriers to control and provide network resources as required by subscribers and ISP/ICPs so that network value can be optimized.

Huawei's ALL IP E2E Multiplay QoE solution has been used commercially in Morocco, North Africa and in China. Maroc Telecom, the largest integrated carrier in Morocco, used Huawei to overcome huge challenges during its evolution to ALL IP network such as; ATM, IP/MPLS, PSTN and GSM services over separate networks; limited IP DSLAM network coverage; and evolution from PSTN/GSM to NGN/3G network.

China Telecom has successfully deployed Huawei services such as consumer Bandwidth On Demand (BOD) together with an IPTV service. Consumer BOD and Enterprise BOD allow consumers and enterprises to send requests for bandwidth change easily and quickly at any time via a WEB portal.

"As a world-leading preferred business partner in ALL IP networking, Huawei has provided carriers worldwide with ALL IP networking solutions," said Mr. Tang Xinbing, vice president of Huawei's networking product line. "ITU was a great opportunity for us to let others experience first-hand the benefits of our multiplay services that they bring."
